Injury Updates: Emma, Ember Moon, and Braun Strowman

Injury Updates: Emma, Ember Moon, and Strowman

The injury plague comes in waves in the WWE. Unfortunately, there are quite a few names that have been added to the list. Already, we have seen former NXT tag team champion, Dash Wilder, out of action. Darren Young has been out since January. Seth Rollins even had an injury scare. Now, there are many more stars that will be added to the list.

Could this be any more unfortunate for the star? While the Monday Night Raw brand continues to push their female roster, the newly returned Emma is in less than stellar shape. During the company’s oversea tour, Emma suffered an injury during a match on Sunday. She was paired with Alexa Bliss and Nia Jax during the live event in Liverpool, England. The trio was facing off against the union of Sasha Banks, Bayley, and Mickie James. Unfortunately for Emma, she had an apparent awkward landing right on her shoulder and needed to be helped backstage.

Emma was out of action for most of last year due to a back injury. She chalks it up to bad luck on her Twitter account:

Just a little unlucky 😬 Thanks for all the messages. Waiting to see what it is… 🤞🤞🤞

Hopefully we will see Emma back in action soon.

Ember Moon

WWE has confirmed that NXT star Ember Moon will not be appearing for the upcoming NXT Takeover: Chicago event. Ember has been in high contention for the women’s title for awhile now. Lately, Ember has been a fierce opponent. She has been quite a force, gaining momentum and popularity quickly. She was penciled in as a participant of a fatal four-way match for Asuka’s title. However, Ember Moon will be out of action for about a month due to a separated shoulder.

Though Ember Moon remains positive, the match has diminished to a triple threat. Asuka will now face off against Nikki Cross and Ruby Riot.

Braun Strowman

Now, this injury was uncertain. At first glance, this is just a work in an attempt to keep Roman Reigns looking like a strong babyface. However, recent reports have shed light on the truth. Strowman’s injury is legitimate.

Strowman has been on a roll lately. He’s destroyed Kalisto and made Roman Reigns bleed. Strowman has thrown guys around like dolls and tipped over ambulances. Fans have grasped on to his character, glad to have someone who doesn’t speak much but can certainly back it up in the ring. Perhaps having a new, fresh character climbing the ranks so quickly has been exciting for many. Strowman has delivered jaw-dropping matches each week, establishing himself as a top star.

Unfortunately, Braun Strowman has suffered an elbow injury.  The devastating news came following the Payback pay-per-view. Strowman will be out of action between 4-8 weeks. Strowman will be undergoing surgery for a torn rotator cuff. So, it will be unlikely for Strowman to appear during the Extreme Rules or Great Balls of Fire pay-per-views. On the other hand, Strowman will be ready for Summerslam. Since Strowman’s popularity is immense, he will be able to pick things up right where he left off.

Strowman has still made appearances during the company’s tour overseas despite his injury. Yet, with Strowman high in the match cards, the question is who will be replacing him as a monstrous heel after they return to the states.

Hopefully, this injury plague dies down quickly. The company can’t afford any more holes in their rosters. Undoubtedly, each person’s respective shows will suffer. In the meantime, WWE will be busy trying to patch things up on the creative end, quickly trying to find replacements.
