James Ellsworth Released From His WWE Contract

You always hear that “all good things must come to an end.” And, it appears that today, another good thing did end. The WWE announced on both its official website and via social media that they have come to terms with the release of the Chinless Wonder, James Ellsworth:

“WWE has come to terms on the release of WWE Superstar James Ellsworth. WWE wishes Ellsworth the best in all of his future endeavors.”

Ellsworth responded in a very positive fashion, and is overall just truly grateful:

The WWE initially called Ellsworth over the summer of 2016 to suffer a “squash” match against the Monster Among Men, Braun Strowman. Though he was only meant to be the little guy to get run over by a human monster truck, the WWE was so impressed by how well he connected with the fans.

As a matter of fact, he even came up with what would be a catch phrase during a promo prior to the match. Ellsworth stated, “Any man with two hands has a fighting chance.” Ellsworth even acknowledged that Vince McMahon himself congratulated him on a job well done.

The Dream Doesn’t Stop There

Ellsworth would quickly turn into an internet sensation. Because of the support received, he would join forces later with Dean Ambrose during his title feud with AJ Styles. Although Ellsworth was undoubtedly a comedic relief character, he did pull off a few wins over Styles.

James would continue on to align himself with the Princess of Staten Island, Carmella. He’s been her trusty sidekick for a long time, even partaking in the first-ever women’s Money-in-the-Bank ladder match. Technically, he kind of won it in an extremely controversial way.

Unfortunately, after his split from ‘Mella, James has been busy fighting with the entire women’s Smackdown roster. It looks like the creative team had nothing left for him after that.

However, James Ellsworth has gotten over so well with the fans that he’s already been receiving inquiries from other promotions. It is safe to say he will have no trouble finding a new home in the Indie circuit.
