The Miz Signs New Deal with the WWE

Arguably, current WWE Intercontinental Champion, Mike “The Miz” Mizanin has had one of the greatest years thus far. His promo work and microphone skills are out of this world, and every feud he’s been a part of has been gold. He’s made the Intercontinental Championship belt notable. In fact, he’s enjoying his eighth reign with the belt. The only person with more IC reigns is, of course, Chris Jericho.

Additionally, he’s been named the “Superstar of the Year.” His personal life is going just as well, as he is expecting to be a proud papa very, very soon.

The backing that he’s gotten from the WWE Universe has clearly not gone unnoticed. The WWE also sees a shining star in the 37-year-old veteran from Parma, Ohio. He’s been one of the most developed talents on the entire WWE roster. He recently secured his spot in the Elimination Chamber at the upcoming pay-per-view, which ought to be a great show.

Because of The Miz’s excellence, he won’t be going anywhere soon. According to PW Insider, the WWE wanted the Miz to sign a deal for a longer period, but the two sides eventually settled on four years. That will keep the Superstar under contract until 2022, and he will be in his early forties.

Hopefully, this means that we’ll see Miz continue to rise back into the main event. Of course, he won the 2010 Money in the Bank ladder match, defeating Randy Orton for the WWE Championship. Unfortunately, that seems to be where his “push” ended. Some insiders believe Vince McMahon saw Miz as “injury prone” following a concussion, and he never got the chance to main event again.

We’ll see, though. Anything can happen in four years.
