Rhodes’ vs. Hardys at WWE Starrcade?

If there were ever a dream match that should happen, then a Rhodes vs. Hardys match is it. Recently, news of the WWE reviving the NWA-WCW flagship event “Starrcade” has made the rounds. Reports say that Cody Rhodes sent a tweet to WWE Exec Micheal P. Hayes about the company bringing back the name.

Slated for November 25th in Greensboro, NC; the SmackDown Live exclusive event is one of many WCW PPVs that fans have wanted to see brought back. Cody requested that the company book his brother, Dustin “Goldust” Runnels; since they are using “one of [his] dad’s events.”

The Hall of Famer responded by asking if he would like to team with his brother for the event. Goldust is more than happy to reunite with his brother in a WWE ring. And he even has a team he’d like to face with his brother:

To say this would be a WWE fan’s dream tag match would be an understatement. In fact, to say this would be a WWE Superstar’s dream match would be just as such; as Matt Hardy would respond to Goldust’s tweet with his own admission:

Let’s make it a Party…

But, of course, Matt doesn’t only want Cody to show up; one of his followers suggested that Cody bring The Young Bucks to Greensboro. Hardy would reply:

Reporter’s Reaction:

By all accounts, if the respective parties do face off, it’ll be something that fans will be talking about for years to come. The Rhodes family very much represent tradition in wrestling, as the Hardys represent the “extreme”.

I think this would be one of those money matches that the WWE could, and should, bank on. The sell of the history that comes with not only Starrcade, but the Rhodes name; it can definitely be a good sell to bring in fans.

Top that off with the Hardys bringing in their high flying and risk taking style; and you have the formula for a possible match of the year candidate.

The WWE should not drop the ball on this one. But, what do you think? Comment below, and let us know if you think this will be a classic, or a dud.
