Shane McMahon Could Face Retirement

Shane McMahon

Shane McMahon Facing Retirement?

Smackdown Live Commissioner Shane McMahon could be facing retirement after suffering a shocking injury at Hell in a Cell. Hell in a Cell was held on October 8, and McMahon was put into a match against Kevin Owens.

Since the age of 15, he has been entertaining wrestling fans. However now, at the age of 47, this could be the end for him. This year’s Hell in Cell took place at the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan.

The injury occurred while Owens was laid out on a announcer table. Meanwhile, McMahon tried to end the battle with a frightening 40-foot leap from the top of the cell. But, at the last minute, Sami Zayn pulled Owens aside. Then, McMahon crashed through the table and hit the floor.

Shane McMahon update

McMahon was tended by medics and was immediately taken to a nearby medical facility.  A recent report determined that he is dealing with multiple injuries. Those injuries include neck trauma, fractured ribs, and a dislocated shoulder. Not much information has been revealed about his condition, but WWE will keep a close eye on his medical condition.

Fans show support through Twitter

Fans Tweeted some get-well-soon wishes to Shane:

That was crazy, hope you are OK man. Really hope this don’t mean retirement.

Shane literally risked his life, just for the WWE Universe. Thank you Shane!

Other folks weren’t so kind. One Tweet came through, blasting:

You are like 50 years old, Stop jumping off things.

Sunday’s Hell in a Cell event wasn’t the first time that Shane McMahon attempted a leap of faith. We saw a familiar one at Wrestlemania 33 during a Hell in a Cell match. That match resulted as a loss to the Undertaker.

He has also reportedly taken a fall from the titantron. Additionally, earlier this year he was one of two people to survive a helicopter crash. The chopper made an emergency landing off the shore of New York’s Gilgo Beach back in July.

Writer’s Thoughts

The Hell in a Cell match was indeed a very brutal but good match. I give both Shane and  Kevin healing wishes. I don’t see McMahon giving up easily, so retiring doesn’t seem likely to me.

On a side note, we finally encountered Sami Zayn’s heel turn. Despite all the bad blood between the pair, he helped Owens win! This could be the kind of push that Zayn needs. I am happy that they have decided to give Sami something to do.

What do you guys think? What is the future for Shane O’ Mac? Will best buds Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn last?
