Shane McMahon Involved in Helicopter Crash

Earlier this morning, ABC 7 NY reported an incident involving Smackdown Live Commissioner, Shane McMahon. Shane was on board of a two-person helicopter when it made an emergency crash landing. The chopper headed to safety right off Long Island near the Atlantic Ocean.

Mario Regtien was the pilot in today’s near fatal incident. The two men were ferried to shore via emergency personnel. Nobody was injured or harmed. McMahon released a statement to the local television stations:

“It’s very unsettling, when all of the sudden you have something happen – you hear a bang, and the (the pilot) started saying we’re going to do an emergency landing in the water. It’s very unnerving, but Mario was super calm and that made me calm, and we landed perfectly.”

McMahon’s plane departed early Wednesday morning. So far, it is unknown as to what caused the emergency land.

According to the reporting TV stations, the helicopter is registered to Awesome Flight, LLC of White Plains, NY. Awesome Flight offers private flights for travel and scenic tours around the New York area.

Shane McMahon also made a recent statement to He stated he was heading to visit his family in Eastern Long Island. He thanked the pilot, the Suffolk County Marine Bureau, the Fire Island Coast Guard station and also the lifeguards.
