NXT: WarGames

The NXT: WarGames PPV could be the pay-per-view of the year within the WWE umbrella. It certainly does not disappoint the fans or the late great Dusty Rhodes. The American Dream’s son, Dustin Rhodes (Goldust), sent out a Tweet praising Triple H. Even Cody (ROH champion), who is in a heated battle with WWE, liked the Tweet.

Ruby Riot defeated Sonya Deville in a decent bout.

Pete Dunne (c) defeated Johnny Gargano. This is also nice to watch.

Lars Sullivan defeated Kassius Ohno, a back and forth match that we can see the build of another monster. But ,I hope the momentum will last longer for him once he debuts in WWE main roster.

Aleister Black defeated Velveteen Dream in what is arguably the best match of the night. It’s the kind of match WWE needs in their PPVs. If WWE creative team knows how to put book them correctly, they could become mega-stars.

Ember Moon defeated Kairi Sane, Nikki Cross, and Peyton Royce to gain the NXT championship belt. This is another great women’s match. Unfortunately, we haven’t seen a good women’s match for a while on WWE’s Raw or SD Live. The only downside was that after a huge build-up for Kairi, she wasn’t as dominant as her fellow Japanese star, Asuka. Yet, the ending was executed nicely; with Moon hitting the Eclipse on both Peyton and Cross.

Andrade “Cien” Almas (with Zelina Vega) defeated Drew McIntyre(c); rumor has it that McIntyre doesn’t connect with fans like he used to in the Indies, but it’s understandable why ex-WWE wrestlers always connect with fans better outside of WWE. People just love hearing about wrestlers taking bad about WWE.

NXT: WarGames Crowns a New Champion

And for Cien, now that he’s the new NXT champion, will he be like another heel Alberto Del Rio? Even though Alberto is a ticking time-bomb, his first debut in WWE as a heel was very entertaining.

For their match itself, I think they performed better than some of WWE main event title matches, namely Roman Reigns matches. Not being an anti-Reigns smark, but he still needs to work his in-ring skills.

Main Event of the Evening: WarGames Double Rings & A Mega Steel Cage!

The Undisputed Era (Adam Cole, Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly) defeated The Authors of Pain (Akam and Rezar) and Roderick Strong and Sanity (Alexander Wolfe, Eric Young and Killian Dain). True, it was a slow start, but then the pace picked up once all the remaining teammates entered the cage.

The massacre really began, though, after Wolfe & Dain bring in the weapons from under the ring. Even the Beast of Belfast connected with the fans after bringing the tables as requested.

Outcome is also acceptable as the Undisputed Era came out victorious!

On a side note, Adam Cole is the next Heartbreak Kid. And, if WWE made AJ Styles vs Adam Cole for the Heavyweight Championship at Wrestlemania 34, I can bet Reigns vs Lesnar will become a “toilet break” match.
