WWE and Mattel Launching Girl’s Product Line

As a personal collector of WWE action figures, I can’t help but to share my excitement about this one. If I had my way, my walls would be covered with my ridiculous collection. And now, it looks like I can focus on another awesome product. This new release proves that the popularity of the women in the WWE have truly connected with their female fan base. Here’s the scoop released from a press conference with Mattel:

This line features fashion dolls of Nikki and Brie Bella, Sasha Banks, Natalya, Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, Alicia Fox and Eva Marie. The 12″ dolls come with multiple fashions inspired by those women.

Role Play items are also going to be part of this line. For example, one item is the WWE Women’s Championship title belt. Other fun accessories include a Bayley-inspired headband and Sasha Bank’s “Legit Boss” rings.

Deluxe action figures include bold ring looks and accessories. For example, Charlotte Flair’s robe.

This is the first time female WWE Superstars will have a fashion doll and role-playing line. The dolls will be available for pre-order online only at beginning Monday, July 24, and exclusively at Toys”R”Us® stores nationwide this September.

Stephanie McMahon commented on the deal.

“The launch of the first-ever WWE girls’ product line is a significant moment in the evolution of not only our female Superstars, but our entire company. We are honored to partner with Mattel to provide kids with another way to connect with our incredible female performers who inspire confidence and strength.”

The dolls were revealed at 2017 Comic-Con. has posted photos of the event. You can check out the fun for yourself here.

A Quick Thought About the Line:

Like I said, I’m excited. Who cares if I’m technically too old to play with dolls? However, after reviewing the dolls myself, I’m kind of disappointed. Nikki and Brie Bella will be making their way into my home. But, where’s Alexa Bliss? Or Naomi? I mean, they are the champions…

Eva Marie? Really? Eva hasn’t been in a wrestling ring in a long time. Her role with the WWE is up in the air. Why not put a Paige doll in there, while we’re at it?

The deluxe figures are of Sasha Banks and Charlotte Flair. But only them. Boo. Granted, they’re pretty darn cool. Sasha has her jacket and Charlotte’s got her robe. The basic dolls have boring, blah formal dresses to change into.

Also, I have the “Legit Boss” rings and a cheap replica of the women’s belt. So, why would I buy the Mattel version, too? Seems to me like the WWE got a little lazy with the role play stuff. Glad to know it’s not just their writing that’s lazy.

So, what do you guys think? Will you be pre-ordering anything, too? Is this an awful marketing scheme? Do the dolls live up to your expectations? Let us know in the comments below!
